Wright and Like 2017 Milwaukee -
A Celebration of Wright's 150th Birthday
Saturday, June 3
9 am - 5 pm

Join us in celebrating the 150th anniversary of the birth of America’s greatest architect, Frank Lloyd Wright, with a very special Wright and Like Milwaukee house tour. This is a rare opportunity for interior tours of twelve distinctive architectural treasures - six by Wright and six by "like" architects.

The works by Frank Lloyd Wright are:

  • the recently restored Albert B. and Edith Adelman House
  • the Joseph Mollica House (Erdman Pre-Fab Plan #1)
  • the Elizabeth Murphy House (the American System-Built home confirmed in 2015)
  • the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church
  • the American System-Built Home Model B1 home on West Burnham Street
  • and the ASBH Model Two Flat C duplex also on the Burnham Block, the largest collection of Wright’s ASBH designs in the world.

All six of the “like” homes are private residences new to the Wright and Like tour; most have never been open to the public. They include:

  • two homes by John Randal McDonald - the George and Angeline Blair House and the Dr. George and Lucy Vander Beke House
  • two Mid-Century Modern homes by the Milwaukee firm of Willis and Lillian Leenhouts – including the Willis and Lillian Leenhouts House and the Gardner and Dr. Mary Banning Friedlander House
  • another MCM home by architect Abe Tannenbaum - the Dr. Walter and Judith Shapiro House
  • and the Bernard and Mabel Nietschmann House by Wright associate Russell Barr Williamson.

Attendees will be mailed a driving map/ticket in late May allowing you to visit the sites in any order.Advance tickets are $60 for members of FLLW WI and $70 for non-members. We advise allowing the entire day for this tour. Please note these homes are not ADA accessible.
