Dr. Ken Dahlin Speaking At All Wright Event

Wright in Wisconsin was thrilled to launch the weekend with a special Friday night event on September 5th, welcoming attendees to the historic Hillside Drafting Studio and Theater. The evening was a fantastic blend of intellectual exploration and celebration of the future of Organic Architecture.

A Deep Dive into Beauty with Dr. Ken Dahlin

The centerpiece of the night was the presentation by architect and Wright in Wisconsin Board Member, Dr. Ken Dahlin. Dr. Dahlin offered an insightful look at the themes in his latest book, Frank Lloyd Wright and the Path to Beauty, recently published by Routledge in June 2025. Attendees had the unique opportunity to purchase the book and have it signed by the author during the initial reception. Dr. Dahlin's presentation, held in the Hillside Theater, captivated the audience, offering a fresh perspective on Wright's profound architectural philosophy and its enduring relevance.

Celebrating "Wright Now"

Before the main presentation, the excitement peaked with the announcement of the winners of our design competition, "Wright Now, The Future of Organic Architecture Design." This segment celebrated cutting-edge work by emerging designers who are continuing to push the boundaries of Wright's foundational principles. The competition demonstrated that the spirit of Organic Architecture is alive, well, and innovating for the future.

The Evening's Flow

The sold-out, separately ticketed event unfolded beautifully:

  • 6:00 PM: The evening began in the Hillside Drafting Studio with a warm reception, featuring charcuterie, drinks, and the book signing.

  • 6:30 PM: Winners of the "Wright Now" design competition were revealed.

  • 7:00 PM: Dr. Dahlin delivered his compelling presentation in the Hillside Theater.

  • 8:00 PM: The night concluded with a pleasant reception of coffee and desserts in the Hillside foyer, allowing attendees to mingle, discuss the presentation, and share their passion for Frank Lloyd Wright's legacy.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this intellectually stimulating and inspiring start to the weekend! It was a memorable celebration of both history and the future of design.
